The first and most important one was the Achaemenid dynasty of ancient Iran, since 550 B.C. Shiraz is the city of poetry and poets, holy shrines, mosques, colorful windows, eye-catching mirrors, and the ancient Persepolis palace. Nowadays, Shiraz is the 4th most populated and important city in Iran. Shiraz was approximately the capital of Iran for 1000 years, so you can easily guess it is the most important capital of Iran’s whole history.
